Went to see Louis the Child here. The venue is a little run down and in need of a renovation, but that didn't take away from the concert experience. Also it is a rather small venue so the performers stayed after to meet with fans, which was a huge bonus.
They have great bands, and this place has the potential to be amazing. Unfortunately the ownership sucks. I went to a show a couple months back (Baroness and Pallbearer) where it had been in the 90's all day, apparently the air conditioning was broken. That makes for a bad situation, but to make things worse, all the windows were closed and sealed off with plastic! It was well over 100 degrees inside that night and humid like a human sweat sauna. Baroness cut their set short. It was completely miserable. I'll never go back. I also have a feeling a lot of bands and tour promoters are going to start blacklisting this dump.
Certainly not as bad as everyone says but it's far from a standout venue. I thought the sound and sight lines were great but the staff had a general "hate my life" kind of attitude. It's said there is no reentry but they let a few people out at a time if you had a wristband. Dopapod and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are incredible.
