Usually I carefully lower my expectations from buffet restaurants: the food is not made to order, and thus a certain degree of indirection, or anonymity is added. Well, despite all this I was pleasantly surprised. By the variety of sushi, its taste and quality, presence of many dishes that aren't a common staple of sushi restaurants. The service is very good too. The desserts are OK but not extraordinary. The green tea ice cream is not very green tea (its taste is rather vanishing). Didn't try the meats so can't comment on that. Overall, a solid A.
For a descent all you can eat buffet, Minado is great. They are not so great with groups. They require a gratuity, were inflexible on head count, when there was a difference, they insisted on their count (I later found that one person came by, said hi and left, without eating or sitting). They generally have great service, but with a group, the waiter was never around when needed. When scheduling and upon arrival, it was made clear the group meal was covered, but anything more would be born by the individuals. The waiter zealously brought extra drinks and handed me the bill. The floor manager looked at us a few time, disapprovingly upon arrival and during the meal. Everyone was well behaved, there was lots of quiet talking and not much eating. Ultimately, he supported the erroneous head count and then moved away. This was the first and last time I will organize such a meal.
Went here on a Saturday at 5 right after they opened for dinner. It was already busy and packed. We had no wait. When we left an hour later the wait was about half an hour for seating. Started on the sushi side. If you're a sushi lover you'll find something you'll like. If you're not you'll still find something you'll like. Made our way to the hot food side. That was great. Seafood was delicious. Meats were great. All different temps on beef so you could get rare to well and in between. Raw bar was really good. Cynthia our server was the best. Constantly vigilant lol
