Stay away for your own safety !! It cost me nearly $500.00 to repair the damage that Valvoline caused to my vehicle.
I inquired as to their level of experience with 2016 KIA Sorento with only 26,000 miles. I was assured there would be no problem.
As I remained in the vehicle, the oil change began. Instantly the party changing the oil under the vehicle began complaining that he had to remove multiple screws/bolts to access the area … and he continued to complain. and complain and complain. Two different service people came over to notify me that the oil change would take longer than normal because of all of the screws on the Engine Splash Shield; a total of 6. I responded that I was not concerned with the length of time but I was greatly concerned that it would be done correctly. I was assured that it would be.
I drove away with a feeling that I had made a bad decision bringing my newer vehicle to Valvoline and that the party had not properly replaced the Engine Splash Shield correctly.
My gut feeling was correct.
One week later, something hanging down at the front of the vehicle caught my eye. It was the Engine Splash Shield. Upon further inspection I noted that one of the bolts was missing. I took a picture of the Shield which was now damaged and hanging from the vehicle.
The Valvoline lackadaisical service person who was complaining about the inconvenience of having to remove and replace 6 bolts, which I may add is his job, did a poor job. A poor job which has cost me nearly $500.00 in repair costs to return my vehicle to the state that it was in prior to my visit to Valvoline not to mention the time that I had to take out of work to have this safety issue resolved.
