6/3/2017 - Extremely BAD customer service :( The manager was extremely disrespectful in front of our entire party of 10 people. I have a medical condition in which I had 80 percent of my stomach removed and have a medical card in which allows me to order small portions and/or off of a kids menu for life. I kindly asked a waitress for a kids menu due to my stomach size as a childs portion meal gives me 2-3 meals and she had no problem at all (like all places I've eaten haven't). I ordered clearly and said kids menu portion (so that I did not waste food) and pointed at the menu. They brought me a full massive adult portion in which I reminded them at this time that I had ordered a small meal and had no one to eat the leftovers but she was not acknowledging my statement. When the bill came I was charged the 18.99 instead of the 5.99 in which was not the underlying issue here, the food was going to be wasted and I specifically made it very clear to my order. I showed her my medical card and without even glancing she said she would get the manager. Manager came over very rudely and stated it did not matter if I had a medical issue or not, the bill is what it was and it could not be granted. The manager wouldn't even look at my card, I handed it to her and she placed it directly on the table without any viewing. It took nearly 30 minutes to checkout because they were making a huge deal out of it. Needless to say, I paid my full bill but will never return or recommend this place as they were extremely rude and inconsiderate. She not only embarrassed me but also disappointed our entire group. Customer service is extremely important and wish we would have been treated much nicer.

This is almost literally the only place to eat Americanized-Italian food in town. A throwback to earlier days of sparsely populated Wilmington that has only recently had an interior makeover to cover the grease stains on the ceilings and peeling wallpaper. The exterior is as it has always been. People in town don't like change. The food? Pretty much the same as it has always been - mediocre (except for the pizza). I grew up in town, left early, then returned to raise kids. Rocco's was the same when I came back as when I left, except the expansive menu has gotten more expensive. Much more expensive. Average entree prices in the mid to upper $20s? When I was growing up in town we stayed away from Rocco's because the food was crappy (except for the pizza). We've been visiting lately for pizza with the kids and thankfully that has held up - I will easily say the best in town, but on the rare occasion we try something else we remember why we usually don't. Locals will understand this reference: Rocco's is the Kitty's of Wilmington. The bar is always full of locals. The bartenders deliver a heavy handed free pour so if too large and too strong drinks are your thing, have a couple here, watch the game and share a pizza.
