I have been attending Darcie’s (of Newburyport Wellness) strength classes for over a year and highly recommend her as an exercise coach and physical therapist.
I started in her one of her group exercise classes with the hopes to get a good workout, but have got so much more from my time in her classes; from learning about my own body and abilities (and areas of weakness), to the correct form and breath work for each exercise. I now know how to get the full benefit from each exercise and to do so without causing injury. Each class Darcie checks in with us all and modifies every exercise to work with our abilities and needs. She watches us closely to ensure we are doing each move correctly, to prevent injury and to maximize each exercise. I love that she keeps her classes small, there is no getting lost in the back of one of her classes.
I also have benefited from the fact that she offers one on one assessments, this was incredibly important to me early this year when I had a unlucky injury which prevented me from running and exercising for ten weeks. When I returned to exercise Darcie did a full assessment and created a modified plan to ease me back into physical activity. Without Darcie’s help I would not have had the confidence to return to exercise; and am now back to full workouts and am excited to continue my progress to being my healthiest and fittest self yet.
