H&R Block

Made an appointment on January 31st and met with the guy. He was a little late as his previous clients took a little longer than expected. We sat and he explained everything. I told him that if he couldn't get me as much as I could get doing it myself, we'd leave. He finished up and gave me my amount. It was more than I was getting myself so I agreed to pay. Once we paid the $200 he noticed he forgot one of our W2's. So, he would have to make an amendment. Once he adds that extra income, our tax return will drop. So, I paid them $200 to get me a smaller return and screw it up in the process. It’s now March 8th, and I do not have my W2’s, my return, or my amendment for me to mail. I got nothing except a larger refund (which I will now have to payback) and a headache. I want my paperwork back and a refund of my $200.

My wife & I worked with a lovely lady who was very helpful and made the tax process easy. The only thing I can knock is the price. In the end, I feel like the price was worth it though because I wouldn't have had peace of mind if I attempted my crazy taxes this year on my own.
