Worst office ever. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. I have had nothing but problems with multiple staff members.
For starters, the office scheduled and rescheduled my 8 week appointment THREE times on me and then the day I go in, they tell me there is no doctor and could I reschedule AGAIN.
My second appointment, an assistant said she was going to listen to the heartbeat (my first time ever as it is my first child) and she sat there for about five minutes frowning and moving the instrument around and frowning more. It got to the point where I thought there was something wrong because she is just moving it around and making these faces and I began to get upset, like why can't she find the heartbeat?! Finally she says "I can hear him, I'm just looking for a better sound for the heartbeat." Uh, thanks for telling me?!
I was given a test for a standard procedure I was told on the first visit. I never heard anything about the results so the next two appointments I had I asked about it and they told me that "oh! It looks like the lab never sent over the results! We'll have to call them!" Each time I asked for a phone call to confirm the tests being negative. They never called me back.
I ultimately switched to a midwife and getting my records from this office was no easy task either. My midwife sent in a release letter I signed three times and I myself called twice but was given the run around saying that they had no record of such a request. The midwife actually called and spoke to someone and when she told the receptionist my doctor's name, the receptionist insisted there was no doctor at their practice with that name. Then she realized "oh that's the new doctor," are you serious? Shouldn't a receptionist know which doctors she works for? The practice isn't that big, it's a tiny building with only 3 or 4 doctors!
So here I am, eight months pregnant and no medical records. I called again and was told "when we discharge you from the practice your records go to Southbridge, I'll put in a request." At this point, I have no faith in this office. I called Southbridge myself. That receptionist tells me that she looked for my record already when they called the last time (wait.... I thought they never received my requests?) and she tells me THEY DONT HAVE MY MEDICAL RECORD. So I call Charlton back again and finally get the only person who has a brain on the phone. She looks at the "current patient records".... THERE'S MY CHART!
As you can imagine, I'm quite upset at this point and I ask her to send me a copy of my record or can I come get it and I was told I have to fill out a request and then wait 10-14 business days because the record has to go through an outside company to be sent to me. WHAT?! How much sense does that make? So I have to drive down to the office where, as I'm filling out my request, I can SEE my chart sitting on the desk and I am half debating can I snatch it and run before anyone catches me, and the receptionist tells me there's going to be an additional charge because I'm having the records released to myself and not another office. She then repeats to me, "yeah this is the first request we've received from you," and I fought the urge to tell this woman off.
12 days later my records come in the mail and finally I see that I'm negative for the test they ran on me at 8 weeks, but... My 20 week ultrasound is missing! Is this a joke? It really must be. I called today and the receptionist told me that because I had my ultrasound at UMass Memorial and not Harrington, I would have to call them and track it down myself. When I pointed out that their office had made the appointment and sent me to UMass, I didn't request it, she replied "well either way, you have to call them."
I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant and still trying to track all the pieces of my record. Do not go to this office. Most incompetent staff ever. They've been the most unhelpful and the only thing they have sent me in a timely manner is bills.
