Horrible Experience, had to ask the estimator to leave my house. I'd like to hope there was just a miscommunication as there are 2 sides to every story but wow this escalated into me kicking him our. I've never kicked out a contractor. I told him I had priced units at Home Depot with accessories and was thinking of installing myself but figured I would get a professional out to give a quote to reduce the hassle for me. I let him know I was cost conscious and had been pricing units. This invoked an aggressive response about not installing anything they do not sell which is normal for HVAC companies so I understood that. I think my point was just to let him know not to put a huge markup on the equipment when he gave his quote. Then I was told of counterfeit units being sold in New England (scare tactic). I tried to move on and get back to talking about the install, asked where he would locate the unit in the new room. "You're not going to benefit from my expertise and then go to someone else" was the reply received. REALLY? - At what point did I say that. This is who @HomeDepot trusts with their customers after filling out the online form? Maybe this guy just had a bad day or wants to maximize his commission. I doubt it's a full reflection of the owners of the Climate Zone.
