Our company rents suites here on a regular basis. For years we have been under the impression that our employees were receiving five-star treatment. Over the past year, complaints have been mounting about the quality of service in rooms. I was asked to spend a weekend at the hotel to verify the complaints.
I arrived at the hotel, and waited over 20 minutes for a doorman. I’ve checked into the room. Less than a half an hour later, a doorman showed up asking to take my bags for checkout. I am still waiting for him to return with my luggage.
The room is of poor quality. There are stains in multiple places on the carpet. There were ants near the food bar. The sofa is broken. Furniture has deep scratches and cuts. Tables have coffee cup stains. Fabric on the writing desk is torn.
I called the front desk and asked to speak with a hotel manager. I was told that I was speaking with a front desk manager. I explained that I was not looking for a discount or any type of compensation only the quality of which I was expecting upon booking the room. She attempted to resolve the problem by offering to put me in a smaller room and explained that ownership simply does not take care of the property as they should.
Indeed they do not.
As a result, they will lose our 60 rooms plus a year.
